Schrödinger License Manager Server-based Instructions

 

Server-entitlements (also known as “floating” or “network” licenses) are installed on one machine (the “license server”) and are checked out by the machines running the software (the “client machines”).

Server-entitlements must be installed on the machine that will act as the “license server” NOT on the machines that are using the software (the “client machines”).

 

NOTE: If you currently have FlexNet-based Schrödinger licenses and will be switching to Schrödinger License Manager licenses, read Transitioning from FlexNet licensing to Schrödinger License Manager





Follow the steps below to set-up the license server:

Set up the licensing directory
Configure a test license server

 

Follow the steps below to install the entitlement on the license server and configure the system service:

 

Install your first Schrödinger licenses and configure the system service

(new and existing customers setting up Schrödinger License Manager for the first time)
Install new licenses on an existing Schrödinger License Manager Server

(existing customers who have Schrödinger License Manager set up and are installing new licenses)
